In 1979, 2 German manufacturer made 2 500mm lenses with mirror. It was based on a patent from Helmut Kolwsky (German patent n° 1997499 duNovember, 28th 1968).

1- GÖTTERT, with the Telespect f:11/500, (f:11 à f:45). There was 2 models with either a manual or a motorised focus.

2– META with the Katoptaron TS 500 E, f:8/500, (f:8 à f:32), same as the Telespectwith a different shape..

These lenses were done with mirror from ZEIIS and were made by SCHOTT. The diaphragms were adjustable because the 2 mirrors were not on the same axis.

Informations about these lenses are rare on the internet and variable from one site to another. Some say that the Telespect is a copy of Makowsky model (the Katoptaron). This model could be the work of people coming from META to GÖTTERT. What is the real story ?

We are looking for documents, tests, notice, booklet that could explain the caracteristics, and everything about theses lenses.
